Group communication Model
Peer-to-peer architecture – with peer group of servers supporting a much larger peer group of clients.
- IP Multicast can be viewed this way (routers & clients) and many peer-based GCS support this.
- Presented in the context of application-level multicast, but that is not required.
Only execute distributed algorithms between servers (routers), instead of between all group members to improve scalability.
Either single-sender or multiple-sender groups.
We address how clients can get access to gcs services (authentication) and how the appplication can restrict access to the resources of the system.
