The Backhand Architecture
Based on the Apache Web server.
Implementing the necessary “machinery” as an Apache module to minimize overhead.
Implementing the decision mechanisms inside the module according to the Cost Benefit Framework.
Scalability is achieved by considering only a logarithmic number of potential destinations for each task (fast and avoids oscillations).
Supported platforms - Linux, Solaris, BSDI, AIX, IRIX, HP-UX, Windows-NT.
