Criteria for evaluation:
- Long term effectiveness.
- Convergence Speed.
- Setup complexity and requirements.
- Extensibility to other services (e-mail, ftp).
Recommendations:
- If the shared IP address method’s requirement can be met, this is the most effective method.
- Otherwise, the DNS round trip times method should be used with a limited number of clusters, spread over a large topological area.
