The Frugal System Platform
The Frugal System, developed in this work, uses the Differential PVM Strategy to create a new metacomputing environment. This section describes our work on this package.
This package allows users to execute their Java objects on any participating machine. More importantly, it gives them the tools to efficiently and easily locate the right machine on which to execute their Java objects. Combined with the metacomputing support in Jini™, it enables sophisticated distributed programming and network load balancing.
We have tested this metacomputer and shown it both functional and efficient.
