Simulation: Differential PVM vs. PVM and Enhanced PVM
Notes:
3000 Scenarios Simulated (1000 Results Pictured)
The pink dots show the Enhanced PVM Strategy’s advantage over the Differential PVM Strategy. The blue dots show the Differential PVM Strategy’s advantage over PVM-style round robin.
Note that Differential PVM is much closer to Enhanced PVM in its performance than to PVM.
In 3000 tests, PVM showed an average slowdown of 16.371. The Differential PVM Strategy showed an average slowdown of 11.038. The Enhanced PVM Strategy showed an average slowdown of 10.137. The Differential PVM Strategy, though clearly not in competition with the Enhanced PVM Strategy, performs well given its limited information.
